Anna Cross

Anna is Legal Director in Ellisons’ Family team in Colchester. Anna specialises in all aspects of family law and has extensive experience in dealing with complex financial remedy proceedings that involve an international / jurisdictional element. She regularly acts for clients in complex Children Act cases, again often involving an international element and also acts for ex-patriates in both divorce and financial matters.

Anna has been assisting clients and specialising in this practice area for over 17 years and has a wealth of experience in all areas of family law.

Anna is known for her personable and pragmatic approach and her ability to deal with complex matters and has built up a strong network of clients and professional referrers. Prior to joining Ellisons, Anna was also Managing Partner and co-founder of a niche remote family law practice.

Anna is a Resolution Member and a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel. She is also an accredited Resolution specialist in Domestic Violence, Advanced Financial Provision and Children Law (private).

Anna completed her Legal practice Course (LPC) at Nottingham Law School and whilst studying at Nottingham, she also obtained a prize from Nottingham Solicitors’ Family Law Association (now Resolution) for achieving the highest mark in the Family Law module.

• Anna has extensive experience in dealing with complex financial remedy proceedings that involve an international / jurisdictional element. She also has experience of the private FDR process.
• Anna has experience in acting for (and on the other side of) ex-patriates in both divorce and financial matters and also children matters.
• She also specialises in complex children proceedings involving all aspects of domestic abuse including sexual harm, narcissistic behaviour, alienating behaviour and coercive control.
• She is also regularly instructed in relocation cases where one parent wishes to relocate abroad with the children.
• Resolution Together – Anna has undergone specialist training to be able to assist and advise both parties together after a separation. This follows the “One Couple – One Lawyer” model.
