Ellisons has strengthened its Residential Property team with the appointment of Sarah Osborne as a Senior Associate, based in the firm’s Bury St Edmunds office.
Sarah joins Ellisons with more than 16 years’ experience specialising in leasehold enfranchisement, advising on lease extensions, freehold purchases and right to manage claims. She works with a wide range of clients, including individual flat owners, residential management companies and property investors, and is experienced in handling technically complex matters.
Her appointment comes at a time of ongoing change in the leasehold sector, with recent reforms and continuing uncertainty about how new measures will operate in practice increasing demand for specialist advice. Sarah will continue to monitor developments affecting leaseholders, landlords and lenders, supporting clients as the market adapts.
Commenting on the appointment, Carly Callaghan, Legal Director and Head of Residential Property at Ellisons, said: “Sarah’s appointment is an important one for our clients. Leasehold enfranchisement is a highly technical area and, against the backdrop of continuing reform, clients need clear, specialist advice they can trust. Sarah brings deep expertise and a practical, client‑focused approach, which strengthens our ability to guide clients confidently through complex enfranchisement matters and help them make informed decisions.”
Sarah Osborne added: “Ellisons has a strong reputation for residential property work and for providing clear, practical advice. Leasehold enfranchisement can be unfamiliar and stressful for many clients, and I am looking forward to working with the team to help clients understand their options and move forward with confidence.”
Sarah has experience representing clients before the First‑tier Tribunal and the County Court, and has acted on a wide range of enfranchisement matters, including cases involving disputed rights of way and rooftop development. She has been recognised as a Rising Star in the Legal 500 for her knowledge and clear approach to advice.
Before qualifying as a solicitor in 2013, Sarah qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer and served as a member of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. Her appointment further strengthens Ellisons’ residential property capability in this specialist area.
