Get an insight into the training contract programme and career progression of our existing Trainee Solicitors.

We recruit exclusively through our Vacation Scheme.
At Ellisons, we provide our trainee solicitors with an opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal environment whilst working with our highly skilled and experienced colleagues. The training programme will be through the SQE Graduate Apprenticeship route and is open to anyone who has either a 2:2 Law Degree or a non-law Degree with the Law Conversion Course (PGDL).
We offer our trainee solicitors experience in a variety of English law areas, including opportunities to develop your skills in both contentious and non-contentious work during the term of the training contract.
We will give our Trainees the opportunity to experience more than one area of law. These may include but are not limited to Real Estate, Dispute Resolution, Injury Services, Corporate and Commercial, Private Client, Family, Immigration, Rural Affairs and Employment. As part of the rotation, you will be expected to attend any of our office locations. Whilst we try to take individual preferences into account with regard to location and area of law, this cannot be guaranteed. You must therefore be certain that you can comfortably commute to any of our offices within Essex and Suffolk.
Ellisons is committed to offering exceptional quality training and development for our trainee solicitors. We have a strong training programme that provides high quality legal training alongside the people skills required to develop you as a well-rounded trainee and beyond, into your career as a fully qualified Solicitor.
Our Learning & Development Manager and Training Principal will support all of our Trainees throughout their journey.
We recruit our Trainees exclusively through our Vacation Scheme. Candidates who demonstrate high performance during our Vacation Schemes will be put forward for an interview for a Training Contract.
