Francesca Brown

Before joining Ellisons, Francesca completed her training at a regional firm, where she gained experience in both residential conveyancing and family law before qualifying as a family solicitor in February 2023.

Francesca specialises in private children proceedings, Special Guardianship matters, injunctive proceedings, divorce applications and matrimonial financial matters. She has assisted clients in complex matters, including a seven-day Fact-Finding Hearing involving multiple witnesses, agencies and police evidence. The matter concluded with a positive outcome, resulting in a final order granting the client direct contact with his children and allowing a child’s name to be changed.

She has also assisted a grandparent in a complex Special Guardianship case involving multiple children and parents.

In injunctive proceedings, Francesca has successfully resolved matters outside of court through undertakings and consent orders, helping clients avoid attending contentious hearings. She has also successfully obtained injunctions to protect vulnerable clients.

Francesca has assisted clients both applying for divorce and responding to divorce proceedings, including matters where a process server was instructed to ensure proceedings could progress.

She is known for seeking to resolve matters at the earliest opportunity and for adapting her approach to suit both the matter at hand and the needs of her clients.

Francesca holds an LLB from Oxford Brookes University and an LLM in Legal Practice from London Metropolitan University. She qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2023.
