Amy Burton

Amy is a Partner in Ellisons’ Private Client team. Amy is the Team Leader for the Private Client team in our Colchester office, working closely with the Head of Department, Nicola Weldon.

As an experienced solicitor within the Private Client department, Amy has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of private client matters and has been personally rated by the Legal 500 on multiple occasions.

Amy specialises in advising clients on multi-jurisdictional estate planning, estate administration and succession matters. She has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the legal and tax implications of multi-jurisdictional estates, and she works closely with lawyers in other countries to provide coordinated and tailored solutions for her clients. Amy is part of the Ellisons’ International Team, and one of the lead contacts for Alliott Global Alliance, an international collaboration of lawyers and accountants.

With an ability to provide a solution in a manner that is clear and concise, Amy ensures that her clients are the main priority in all areas of her work. Amy is frequently called upon by financial advisers and accountants to provide their clients with advice on a multitude of lifetime planning and succession matters.

Amy is a fully Accredited Member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, a national organisation of lawyers who are committed to providing and promoting robust, comprehensive and independent legal advice for older people, their family and carers.
