Public Liability Accident Claims

Public liability insurance cover is a type of insurance that covers businesses and other organisations for accidents that happen on their premises. If you are injured in a public place due to the negligence of another party, you may be able to make a public liability claim.

To be successful in a public liability claim, you must prove that:

  • The other party owed you a duty of care
  • The other party breached that duty of care
  • Your injuries were caused by the breach of duty

Some common examples of public liability claims include:

  • Slips and falls on wet or uneven surfaces
  • Trips and falls over objects that have been left on the ground
  • Falls from stairs or other elevated surfaces
  • Assaults or batteries
  • Dog bites
  • Injuries caused by defective equipment

In most cases, public liability claims are made on a “no win, no fee” basis. This means that you will not have to pay any legal fees if your claim is unsuccessful.

If you have been injured in a public place due to the negligence of another party, it is important to get legal advice as soon as possible. A personal injury solicitor can help you to assess your claim and advise you on the best course of action.

At Ellisons, we have a team of experienced personal injury solicitors who can help you to get the compensation that you deserve. We understand that being injured in an accident can be a very stressful time, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
