Ellisons has announced the promotion of Marion Knocker, a highly regarded residential property lawyer in the Colchester market, to the Partnership, effective 1 May 2026.
Based in the firm’s Colchester office, Marion’s promotion reflects Ellisons’ focus on recognising senior lawyers who combine technical expertise with strong local market knowledge and a consistent commitment to client care. The promotion forms part of the firm’s ongoing approach to strengthening its Partnership across key practice areas.

Marion advises on all aspects of residential conveyancing, including freehold and leasehold transactions, remortgages and new build purchases. With over 20 years’ experience, she works closely with a number of established estate agents across Colchester and the surrounding area and is widely respected for her practical, steady approach to transactions.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX), Marion places particular emphasis on delivering a responsive and efficient service, recognising that no two transactions or clients are the same. Outside her role at Ellisons, she is actively involved in the local community and has recently taken part in the Brighton Marathon and Colchester Half Marathon, raising funds for charities close to her heart. While much of her work is focused locally, she also regularly supports clients moving further afield within the UK.
