Ellisons has acted for VegTrug Limited, the Colchester-based designer and manufacturer of innovative raised garden products, in the sale of its US subsidiary, VegTrug USA, Inc., to its Japanese parent company, Takasho Co. Ltd.

The transaction marks a significant step in VegTrug’s international growth strategy, aligning its global operations under Takasho’s ownership and supporting the brand’s continued expansion across key international markets.

The Ellisons team was led by Paul Forsyth, Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial, with support from Abigail Williamson. Ben Gould of Masuda Funai Eifert & Mitchell, a fellow member firm of the Alliott Global Alliance, advised on the US legal aspects of the deal.

Paul Forsyth commented: “It has been a real privilege to support the VegTrug management team on this important international transaction. The deal demonstrates the strength of Ellisons’ cross-border capability and the value of our Alliott Global Alliance membership in delivering seamless international advice.”

Paul Owen, Managing Director of VegTrug Limited, added: “Ellisons were highly responsive throughout the process, providing practical and commercial advice, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction.
